Session work

Available for recording and for live work — a one-off dep, a project, a festival run or a full tour. Rock, pop, funk and jazz, electric or fretless, and a chart is as welcome as a demo.

In the studio

Remote sessions. Send a demo, a reference or a chart, and get a finished part back.

How it works

  1. Send the brief

A rough mix and a reference track, or a chart if you have one. A sentence about what you want it to feel like is usually enough.

  2. First pass back

A full take within the agreed turnaround, delivered as DI and amp stems plus a rough balance so you can hear it in context.

  3. One round of notes

Anything you want changed, changed. Included on every track.

Revisions

One full round of revisions is included on every track. Anything beyond that is charged at the single-track rate.

Session rates

Priced per track rather than per hour — you are buying a finished part, not a block of time.

On stage

Most of the work so far has been live: function bands, theatre pits and regular dates with Vintage Voltage. Sets learned to performance standard at short notice, and charts read properly first time through.

  • Deps and one-offs

Someone has dropped out and the gig is Friday. Send the set list and I will have it.

  • A project or residency

A run of dates, a festival season or a residency where the same band plays together repeatedly.

  • Touring

Full tours, UK or abroad. Available for rehearsal periods and happy to travel.

  • Theatre and pit work

Reading gigs, including shows where the chart arrives the same day.

Questions

Can you write the part, or do you need one?

Either. Most jobs arrive as a chord chart and a reference, and the part gets written in the room. If you have something specific in mind, send it and I will play it.

Do you read?

Yes — confidently. Theatre pit work is a regular part of the diary, which means charts handed over the same day and played properly first time through.

How much notice do you need for a dep?

Seventy-two hours as a minimum. Send the set list with the enquiry and it will be learned properly rather than guessed at.

Will you travel, and do you tour?

Yes to both. London and the South East are straightforward from Southend; further afield and touring are quoted with travel included.
